South Africa beat England by 7 wickets!

England cricket team is currently playing against South Africa. At the venues of the Proteas, English cricket team whitewashed the local team in the T20I series. The series consisted of five matches. England won all five matches against South Africa. Now, they are playing the ODI series. The ODI series consists of three matches. Earlier today, the first ODI took place. And reportedly, South Africa beat England by 7 wickets!

Yes, finally, the local team has come to the position. In the first ODI meeting between South Africa and England, the local team South Africa beat England by 7 wickets!

At the Newlands Cricket Ground, Cape Town the first ODI took place. Two players from South Africa and two players from England made their ODI debut through the game. For the player Chris Woakes, it was a remarkable match. It is his 100th ODI in his professional career.

The local team Proteas won the toss and decided to bowl first. So, the guest team came to bat. Considering the top four players including the openers, they could not score at least fifty runs. The highest scorer was Jason Roy who added 32 runs so far. Joe Denly scored the highest 87 runs for the team. In the end, they have played complete 50 overs and lost eight wickets. But they presented 258 runs target in front of the Proteas.

Later, South Africa came to chase the score. De Kock and Reeza started for the local team. But in 25 runs, Reeza returned. The partnership between De Kock and Temba Bavuma, they added near about 175 runs and led the team to the victory. De Kock scored the highest 107 runs. But unfortunately, Bavuma got out scoring 98 runs. Losing three wickets only, South Africa reached the target in 47.4 overs. Quinton de Kock has got the player of the match award. The 2nd ODI will take place on 7th February 2020.
