ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 is going on. The first season of the tournament started in the middle of the last year. It is actually a part for the qualification for the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup. Every even of the tournament used to take place as the tri-nation series. This time, it is hosted in Nepal. A total of three teams have taken part. The host team Nepal, Oman and the United States are the participants. Every team will play the four matches in the tournament. Earlier today, the 2nd match of the tournament took place and reportedly, Oman beat the United States by 6 wickets!
The tournament format is the ODI. Oman started the tournament on 5th February and the inaugural match was against Nepal. The team Oman won the first match also. Now, Oman beat the United States by 6 wickets! It is the 2nd match of Oman.
At the venue of Kirtipur, the match between the United States and Oman started earlier today. Oman won the toss and let the USA bat first. Openers and top orders of the team could not add many runs. Just two players Ian Holland and Akshay Homraj played well. Ian scored the highest 65 runs. Losing 9 wickets in 50 overs, the United States presented 213 runs target in front of Oman. Mohammad Nadeem took three wickets highest for Oman in the match.
Later, Oman came to bat. They failed to make a good start. In 4 runs, opener Singh returned. He added only 4 runs. From then, Khawar Ali and Aqib made a partnership. They added 66 runs jointly. Aqib scored the highest 72 runs. Finally, Nadeem and Suraj led the team to the victory. They lost four wickets and in 49.3 overs, they chased the score. Oman played their next match on 9th February 2020 against Nepal.
