Missed out Players in Brazil Squad:

The nation which produces hundreds of stars in each generation never had a shortage of talent to call for the grand stage of world football. But only 26 slots are available for the World Cup. Hence many of the names were required to be dropped or left out. Let’s take a look at the players who missed out on the Brazil squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

  • Roberto Firmino (Liverpool)
  • Roger Ibanez (Roma)
  • Gabriel Magalhaes (Arsenal)
  • Philippe Coutinho (Aston Villa)
  • Matheus Cunha (Atletico Madrid)
  • Gabriel Barbosa (Flamengo)
  • Renan Lodi (Atletico Madrid)
  • Emerson Royal (Tottenham Hotspurs)
  • Douglas Luiz (Aston VIlla)
  • Andreas Pereira (Fullham)

Many fans across the globe were shocked by the snub of Roberto Firmino who has been a crucial Liverpool forward in recent seasons. But many experts backed the manager’s decision as Firmino hasn’t been that productive under Tite’s management unlike his club-level performances under Jurgen Klopp.

Gabriel Magalhaes was in good form for the Gunners but he also couldn’t find a way out in the squad for Qatar. Tite went with only 8 defenders and went for an extra attacking option. Hence the Arsenal center-half had to be dropped. AS Roma man Roger Ibanez was also left out and another Serie A star Bremer (Juventus) was picked alongside the star trio of Thiago Silva, Marquinhos, and Militao.

Too much competition due to the presence of numerous stars in the frontline means no place for out-of-form Philippe Coutinho and Gabriel Barbosa. The likes of Matheus Cunha and Renan Lodi also didn’t get the call for the Qatar mission.

Key Players for Brazil in Qatar World Cup:

The Brazil squad which is heading to Qatar is full of stars but there will be a few on whom the success of the side will depend the most.

Neymar Jr:

Neymar is definitely the main man for Tite. The Brazilian number-10 is yet to win a major international trophy with his national team. The ones who are wondering must remember that the PSG forward missed the 2019 Copa America. Neymar has been in red-hot form recently and will be the main weapon for the Selecao.

Alisson Becker:

The first-choice gloveman of the country has proven himself the man for big occasions. If Brazil is to lift the 18-caret gold piece in Qatar, Alisson’s big pair of hands will have to be at their ultimate best.

Thiago Silva:

Silva is once again captaining the country and is the most experienced campaigner on this side. Silva was without a UCL medal and completed that task with the Blues of Chelsea in 2020-21. And now it’s his turn to lead the country to its 6th WC glory. No doubt he along with Marquinhos will be the key in the backline.

Casemiro:

Casemiro has shown his impact and valuation for Real Madrid. The defensive midfielder is also highly crucial for his national side as well. Among many other stars, Casemiro will have to take the responsibility to control the midfield. He will be the first line of defense against opposition forwards trying to break the Brazilian defense.

Vinicius Junior:

Another big game player. The Madrid winger has improved tremendously in the last one-and-a-half season and will be vital for Tite’s side. Vini scored the UCL winning goal in the final against Liverpool and would be licking his lips to repeat that once again but this time on a much bigger stage.

Will Brazil win the World Cup in 2022?

It’s the most valuable question to Brazilian fans at the moment. Currently, we can’t answer that. But one thing we can assure is that Brazil’s squad depth is unmatchable and Tite’s side has been backed by the majority of the sites with the highest chances of winning the World Cup in Qatar. So the answer is Brazil has a huge possibility to win the FIFA World Cup 2022.

Who are the favorites to win FIFA World Cup?

Brazilian fans would love to hear that Brazil is the most favorite to win the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar. OPTA has given Brazil a 16.3% chance of winning the World Cup. And the odds from most of the sites also back Brazil the most to lift the trophy in Qatar. World Cup 2022 Winner Prediction.
