Top Transfer Targets of 2022 Summer Window
The list features so many young and experienced stars from the European club football including the likes of Mbappe, Haaland.
Kylian Mbappe (Paris Saint-Germain):
Kylian Mbappe is one of the biggest names on the chart to make a move during the next window. The France international has a boyhood dream cherished inside his heart. He is pretty much keen to join his dream club Real Madrid and Los Blancos are even much more keen to land him. The FIFA World Cup winner’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain will come to an end after this ongoing campaign and hence he is gonna be a free agent. Knowing that, Real Madrid made a several bid during the summer ’21 window and in January ’22 but the French giants rejected all those bids.
Les Parisiens are keen to win the UCL this season and they have got Real Madrid as their RO16 opponent! If they can’t manage to make a new contract with Mbappe, then he will leave the club for free next season. But PSG is strict with their main goal and have made it clear that they won’t finalize any deal with Madrid prior to their RO16 meetings. Hence, it’s almost certain that, even if the young sensation joins the Spanish giants, they will have to wait at least a couple of months.
Erling Haaland (Borussia Dortmund):
One of the most desired forwards on the planet at the moment. The Norway international is on the Wishlist of a number of clubs. Real Madrid often had their eyes on him and they want to bring in both Mbappe and Haaland to make the most iconic frontline of the decade. Meanwhile, at least 3 EPL giants are also keen for him. Manchester City and Manchester United, both the Manchester based side have kept Haaland at the top of their lists. While, a few sources revealed that current UCL champions Chelsea also want him in their squad next season. Hence it is going to be a transfer battle between the giants.
Meanwhile, the former Salzburg sensation’s current club Borussia Dortmund are not willing to let him go cheaply. Thus you can imagine The Black and Yellows bagging loads of money in exchange of their Norwegian gem.
Paul Pogba (Manchester United):
One of the most talented midfielder of his generation, Paul Pogba hasn’t been a desired outcome for Manchester United. He has shone in his national team jersey with France: won FIFA World Cup and UEFA Nations League. He has also shone in Juventus jersey: won the Serie A, featured in the UCL final. But somehow he couldn’t found the rhythm wearing the Red Devils’ jersey. And that too not once but twice!
Pogba who is one of the most expensive signings of all time, is on the verge of contract expiration at the Old Trafford. He will be a free agent next summer and multiple clubs are planning to sign him. Hence, he is one of the Top Transfer Targets in 2022. His former club Juventus have their eyes on the Frenchman. While Real Madrid are also expected to go for him. But the biggest possibility for Pogba is to join the club of his own country, French giant PSG who are strongly considering him as one of their main targets this summer.
Christian Pulisic (Chelsea):
The US wonder boy hasn’t been able to prove his worth wearing the Blue shirt of Chelsea. He was one of the most promising stars during his Bundesliga days but eventually proved as another Bundesliga flop in the Premier League. The German top flight stars do have a bad reputation in the English highest tier soccer competition in the recent years and Pulisic has found himself just among those names. He hasn’t been a regular starter at Stamford Bridge with a series of injuries and below average performances. Now he is one of the front names to leave the Bridge. Recently appointed Genoa manager Shevchenko has eyed the American star. However, even if he doesn’t leave in January he will almost certainly depart in the next summer.
Matthijs de Ligt (Juventus):
He joined the “Old Lady Of Turin” as a flying Dutchman, after captaining Ajax to the UCL semifinals in 2019. But his days at the Turin may cut short, as the center-back is expected to leave the Serie A giants next summer. His agent Mino Raiola hinted about multiple clubs willing to sign the Netherlands international. EPL giants Chelsea are eyeing him. While, the defender is also on the radar of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain. Hence, the fans will have to wait to have confirmation about his new chapter until the next summer window.
Edinson Cavani (Manchester United):
He was given the iconic number 7 shirt of the Red Devils. And just a season later he handed it to Cristiano Ronaldo, one of the greatest of all time to wear that legendary shirt. But with the arrival of the Portuguese national team captain, Cavani’s game time has been limited. He often comes off the bench and now he urges to leave the Old Trafford based side. Spanish giants FC Barcelona are one of the hot favorites to sign the Uruguayan striker.
Pierre Emerick Aubameyang (Arsenal):
Aubameyang was one of the most valuable players in the Gunners squad. He had the captain’s band on his arm but lost it following a disciplinary breach. And now the situation looks scruffy for him at the Emirates. So expect him to make a move next summer and that too if he doesn’t leave earlier in January. FC Barcelona has shown interests on the Gabon international. Meanwhile, Saudi-backed Newcastle United are also very much eager to sign him.
Antonio Rudiger (Chelsea):
No doubt, he’ll be one of the Top Transfer Targets in 2022. His contract has a few months left and will expire at the end of the season. He is yet to make a new deal with the Blues. And the situation is not clear at the moment. Many of the experts still believe that Abramovich will keep the German center back. But currently the rumors say that a number of clubs have Rudiger on their radars. The list includes: Real Madrid, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
Franck Kessie (AC Milan):
Another midfield star who is running out of his contract with Milan. The Serie A giants aren’t expected to extend the contract and are willing to let him go. Antonio Conte was often an admirer of this Ivorian and Tottenham has strong chances to land him in. Meanwhile, FC Barcelona have joined the race and may end up as the African’s next destination.
Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid):
Griezmann rejoined Diego Simone’s side on a season long loan deal. And Los Rojiblancos do have a option to extend the loan deal or to turn the deal into a permanent one. The FIFA WC winner with France may stay at the Wanda Metropolitano permanently while rumors also indicate about a move to the Premier League.
